If Chopin revolutionized the genre of study, he ennobled that of the waltz. All his life during, he returned to this genre, which he embraced in all its forms, pieces of bravery - the Grandes Valses Brillantes - with paintings imbued with the deepest melancholy. However, these works all have one thing in common: it is impossible and prohibited to dance to this music! Our volume includes all of Valses de Chopin, published during his lifetime or posthumously, among which true traits of genius, such as the waltz nicknamed the "Waltz of the little dog", op. 64, no.1. When there are two authentic versions of the same waltz, we obviously present an Urtext version of each of them.
